Teen-Trepreneur Enterprise Workshop
Students compete against one another by running their own businesses. Each business they select will have a different amount of start-up capital & vary in the number of employees they manage. Students have to make bold decisions to invest and grow their business portfolio and aim to generate the highest possible profit within the allocated timeframe. They keep a formal record of their sales and expenses by bookkeeping.
Whilst running their business, they can also take a dive into the stock market and own shares in multiple businesses. However, they soon learn the consequence of how government decisions can have an economic impact on their business and investment portfolios.
Negotiating & Influencing Workshop for Students
This interactive multi-party negotiation session places students in realistic role-playing scenarios, where they navigate budget allocations and resource management for a school festival. The challenge is to agree on the distribution of the school budget for an upcoming event. However, 6 stakeholders each responsible for organising a part of the event want a larger slice of the pie to deliver their idea to the fullest. Through three rounds of voting and strategic compromises, students develop critical life skills such as teamwork, effective communication, and financial literacy. The workshop brings out student drive, energy and passion to succeed. This workshop offers a rewarding experience that prepares students for real-world challenges and develops essential soft skills for future success.
The Enterprise Cash Builder
An engaging and dynamic activity designed to equip students with essential entrepreneurial skills. Students will tackle 30 tasks within 30 minutes, each task providing an opportunity to bank crucial start-up cash for their Teen-Trepreneur Venture Challenge. This high-energy exercise requires teamwork, communication, strategic thinking, and collaboration, pushing students to work effectively under pressure while honing their leadership and time management abilities.
By the end of this session, students will be better prepared for their afternoon venture challenge, equipped with both the funds and the collaborative experience necessary to succeed.
Teen-Trepreneur Venture Challenge
The Teen-Trepreneur Venture Challenge is an exciting, “Apprentice meets Dragons’ Den” style workshop where students are grouped to form their own companies. The challenge is to develop a unique idea that addresses a common problem. Students create their business structure with assigned roles, develop a company name, logo, and product design, identify their target market, and create a marketing plan and financial forecast. The only limitations are their imagination and the start-up budget raised during ‘The Cash Builder.’
Students then spend time crafting and rehearsing a formal presentation for ‘The Pitch Presentation,’ an opportunity to showcase their ideas and test their public speaking skills.
Zoomed In Communication
This innovative task is designed to enhance students’ communication and teamwork skills. Each student receives a zoomed-in image, and the group must collaborate to determine the correct sequence of the images without seeing each other’s pictures. The activity emphasizes the importance of clear communication and active listening, requiring students to accurately describe their images and interpret others’ descriptions. Through this exercise, students develop essential skills such as effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. By navigating this visual puzzle, they improve their ability to articulate ideas clearly, listen actively, and build consensus.
